You observe a decrease in performance after upgrading a Workflow system from version 2.1 to 2.4.

CAUSE

The TransitionUser table should be optimized.

RESOLUTION

You can run this SQL script to optimize the table (in the example below the database name is WF):

CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX IMPROVE_WF
ON [dbo].[TransitionUser] ([WorkflowTransitionGuid],[Account])
