SYMPTOMS
When browsing to a ZyLAB Web Client, user is unexpectedly prompted for login. Once the user enters its own Active Directory credentials, login succeeds. This issue occurs when using Internet Explorer, other browsers might allow automatic login as expected.
CAUSE
Internet Explorer Security settings do not allow NTLM Authentication.
RESOLUTION
As per the Microsoft Knowledge Base article below, If the computer name portion of the requested URL contains periods (such as http://www.microsoft.com and http://10.0.0.1), Internet Explorer assumes that the requested address exists on the Internet and may not pass any credentials automatically, depending on the security settings. Adding the site to the Local Intranet zone may fix the problem.
- Go into Internet Options in Internet Explorer and click the Security tab.
- From the Security tab, select Local Intranet.
- Click the Sites button.
- Click the Advanced button.
- Add the website URL to the Intranet Zone.
