RESOLUTION
These are the options available to separate documents with barcode or patchcode pages in ZySCAN batch jobs:
White page separation:
- Use the "C:\Program Files (x86)\ZyLAB\Information Management Platform\AddOn\Patch pages\BLANK.TIF" page to split documents.
- It does not require Kofax, nor other image enhancement software, as document separation is performed during ZyOCR stage.
- It relies on the OCR engine finding no characters in a page and therefore splitting the documents.
- This is not the most reliable solution as there could be legit blank pages in the documents.
Patch page separation:
- Use "C:\Program Files (x86)\ZyLAB\Information Management Platform\AddOn\Patch pages\Patchcode.tif"
- It does not require Kofax image enhancement software. If Kofax is not installed, it requires ZyLAB Barcode Engine 3.0 in addition to Twain drivers.
- In Information Management Platform 6.x, ZyLAB Barcode Engine has been decommissioned. It will be replaced with an embedded solution in a later Information Management Platform version.
Patchcode page or custom Barcodes:
- Use "C:\Program Files (x86)\ZyLAB\Information Management Platform\AddOn\Patch pages\NewDocumentPatchPage.tif" or custom barcodes.
- It requires Kofax image enhancement software.
Separate on a fixed number of pages:
-
Whenever the documents in a job have a fixed number of pages, the Multi-split button allows to split after a configured number of pages.
-
This might be suitable for scanned forms or microfilm, where a document always has a fixed number of pages, but generally not for normal documents.
-
It does not require Kofax image enhancement software. If Kofax is not installed, it requires Twain drivers.
