"You are not a registered user for this webclient" error when accessing a Web Client with User Role different than Administrator.

SYMPTOMS

You get error "You are not a registered user for this webclient." when accessing a Web Client. The logged-in user has been included to a user role different than Administrator (Editor, User, or Guest) in the Web Client User Roles configuration page, either directly or via direct Group Membership. You can check this in the ZyINDEX  Web Client > Global Settings > WEB CLIENT NAME > User Roles section. Furthermore, Functional Security is not enabled. You can check this in  the ZyINDEX  Security > General > Settings page.

CAUSE

Functional Security is required for Web Client user roles different than Administrator (Editor, User, or Guest) to be used.

RESOLUTION

Turn Functional Security on. No particular Functional Security configuration is required.

• Enable "Functional Security" by turning it on in ZyINDEX from the Security > General > Settings page. Click on "Update" when done.
• Make sure no ZyNET.exe or ZyNETSessionServer.exe processes are running from previous sessions. You can kill them in Task Manager.
• Browser cache may need to be cleared.
