SYMPTOMS
You can enable ZyALERT user specific access privileges related to the applicable alert/subscriptions. When the logged on user is a Domain user and member of the Local Administrator group you can assign specific privileges. In case you are not the logged on Domain user, and want to keep track of the number of matches and sent files per user, specify in the field Account an identification number for every user. If you want the ZyALERT user to be able to change the Alert settings via the Web Interface, select the Private subscription option.
CAUSE
There is no default protection of user profiles and queries when the alert delivery takes place over a remote connection.
RESOLUTION
Open the Edit users section in ZyAlert.
- Click Users
- Click Add
- Enter your 'logged-on' user name
- Click on Select
- Select the logged-on user / local administrator from the ZyINDEX Security database users
- Click OK
(When you are logged on as a valid Domain user, the Account field and other defining fields like Company, Department, etc. are disabled)
Because ZyALERT and the ZyINDEX-Security model are linked, you only need to click Select, in order to import the user profile.
Open the Edit Alert section in the desired distribution alert to set the 'Private' option.
Options | Access Rights | Private
The user will get a reference at the bottom of the HMTL email (in case of email distribution) that states that he or she can edit the subscriptions.
