ZyNET error: No indexes selected (error number -1) using HTTPS

SYMPTOMS

When accessing a WebClient, an error page is produced with the statement "ZyNET error: No indexes selected (error number -1)."

CAUSE

The application pool may run under a wrong identity.

RESOLUTION

1. Open the Microsoft Server Manager
2. Select the Roles section in the Webserver (IIS) Internet Information Services Configuration Manager
3. Expand the folder underneath the start page "HOME"
4. Open the Application Pool
5. Change the Identity of the ZyASP.NET v4.0 pool to e.g localsystem or other domain account
6. Reset the Internet Information Services (start run -> IISreset)
