The "Unable to access the registry" error message occurs when trying to add a new license key in License Manager

SYMPTOMS

The following message is received when attempting to add a new license key in License Manager:

"Unable to access the registry"

CAUSE

The user launching License Manager does not have sufficient permissions to the Windows registry. Please ensure the installation is done meeting all prerequisites.

RESOLUTION

Launch License Manager as an administrator or log in with a user that has rights to write to the Windows registry.
