A spreadsheet based view allows for a convenient approach in modifying the ZyLAB document status items in your document library (for example, add 'Expiration Date' and 'Move to ZyLAB'). When Microsoft Excel is installed it is possible to view a library page as a spreadsheet. This view format option gives the advantage that your "Move to ZyLAB Index" column has a special checkbox in place. This checkbox status can be changed just by clicking on it (checked = Yes).
Make sure that the document library is configured for to use the column value policy.
Open the Document Library where you want to add a new view type.
Select the Library Tools | Library tab (In case you do not see the Library Tools tab, select the first column of the Document Library).
Select the Library Settings icon.
In the Views part, click Create view.
- On the Create View page, Select 'Datasheet View'.
- On the Create Datasheet View page, enter a suitable View name, and select the columns you want to see (for example, add 'Expiration Date' and 'Move to ZyLAB')
- Click OK.
- Verify that the 'Expiration Date' and 'Move to ZyLAB' columns are present, and the column checkbox is not checked.
