It is not possible to add new documents to the TOC new folder when 'Add to TOC based on field value; option is active on a xml wrapper field.

SYMPTOMS

It is not possible to add new documents to the TOC new folder (in ZyFIND or the WebClient) when 'Add to TOC based on field value; option is active on a xml wrapper field.

You can enable the ' Add new document to the Tabel of Contents' index setting checkbox in the index Field Definitions and specify a TOC folder in the Contents section.
Define a xml wrapper field and select the option ' Add new documents to TOC specified in field value' and add a new document to the index without a field value.

The document will not be not added to the TOC / 'new' folder

CAUSE

This mechanism does work when you do not use xml wrapper fields with the ' Add new documents to TOC specified in field value' but non-module fields instead.

No field defined with add to toc folder enabled.

All documents go to the 'New' folder.

One or more fields defined with add to TOC folder enabled:
Document without field -> Document is added to the "New" Folder (does not work if the field is a xmlwrapper field).
Document with empty field -> Document is deleted from the folder it is currently in.
Document with non-empty field -> Document is added to the specified folder or moved to the specified folder.

RESOLUTION

These mechanisms are separated by design.

Either use the option to add documents using field values or add new document to the 'New' folder.
