SYMPTOMS
On-Access scanning of archived files and program files consumes a lot of memory , CPU and other resources. If on-access scanning of archived files is in use, every time such a file is accessed (e.g. ZyTIMER service; building indexes; ZyLAB Webserver viewing and tagging files; ZyALERT moving and searching files; ZyFIND tagging, viewing and exporting files; ZySCAN ocr-ing and exporting) contents of that file will be fully checked. In some situations, this might lead to problems using the ZyLAB software.

RESOLUTION
ZyLAB does recommend that customers take all necessary steps to prevent a virus to damage the systems. At the same time, it is noticed that an On-Access scan feature in Anti-Virus software can cause problems while using the ZyLAB software. It is recommended to scan data prior to adding it to ZyLAB. Once you have made certain that your data is free of viruses, exclude following directories for On-Access scanning in your Anti-Virus software:
*:\Program Files (x86)\ZyLAB\
*:\Program Files
*:\ProgramData\ZyLAB\
*:\ZyLAB Data\
*:\ZyIMAGE Data\
The exclusions configuration options vary slightly depending on the Virus-scanner.
Note! Some virus-scanners will without the ending of a backslash treat the entry as a file exclusion and not as a folder exclusion with its sub-folders.
