Unable to delete documents in ZyFIND

SYMPTOMS

When performing a successful query in ZyFIND, and then attempting to delete documents in the ZyRESULT list, the option to delete a document is not functioning. Both the “delete document” icon on the toolbar and right-click “delete document” functionality are greyed out.

CAUSE

The functionality has not been enabled in ZyRESULT within ZyFIND.

RESOLUTION

• In the ZyRESULT window, click View > Options.
• Then, select the “Allow deleting of documents” option.
• Now, the deletion of documents is possible.
• *Note* If document security within ZyINDEX disables a user’s ability to delete a document, this process will not work if the user is unauthorized to delete documents.
